Friends of the Little Bighorn Battlefield & Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument's Call To Action"2016 marks the 100th
anniversary of the National Park Service—a defining moment that offers an
opportunity to reflect on and celebrate our accomplishments as we prepare for a
new century of stewardship and engagement. Today, August 25, 2011, the National Park Service announced its "Call to Action" in preparation for its 100th birthday in 2016 and a second century of stewardship and engagement. "A Call to Action" is a bold plan whereas NPS employees and partners commit to specific actions that advance the mission of the NPS. The plan includes four broad themes supported by specific goals and
measurable actions: Theme 2 - Advance the NPS education mission. Theme 3 - Preserve America's special places. Theme 4 - Enhance professional and organizational excellence. You can learn more about the themes and their actions by reading the report issued today, "A Call to Action". The report refers to three other reports which can be accessed via their navigation buttons near the top right side of this page. As the battlefield (LIBI) and The Friends move forward with incorporating the actions that best fit the themes, we will keep you up to date via this page of our website. |
